Looxi Beauty Review!

Hello everyone! Today I’m bringing you yet another review, only this time I’m combining eyeshadows and highlighters in one post! How cool is that? 😉

I found Looxi Beauty while browsing Instagram and their VOODOO highlighter caught my attention right off the bat; I loved how unique it looked with its green flex and white cast! I have never seen a product like it, so obviously I got into contact with the owner and a few days later here I am; drooling over highlighters and foiled eyeshadows!

On Looxi’s website they give us a description of what they are all about;

Looxi beauty was founded by fellow makeup enthusiast, Jessica D. Her passion for cosmetics is something she wanted to share and have everyone experience.  She had one vision in mind and that vision WAS you!”

I can honestly say that Jessica is a complete sweetheart and that she so caring towards her customers; out of all of the messages that we sent back and forth she showed nothing but professionalism and friendliness!

Now onto the nitty-gritty: the product review!

I decided to divide this review into four categories which breaks down my overall opinion of the products!

INGREDIENTS:

Highlighters: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide, Sericite Mica, Synthetic Wax, Zinc Stearate, Isopropyl Myristate, BIS – Vinyl Dimethicone, Copolymer Dimethicone

Shadows: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide, Sericite Mica, Synthetic Wax, Zinc Stearate, Isopropyl Myristate, BIS – Vinyl Dimethicone, Copolymer Dimethicone

Looxi does offer some products which are vegan; so if you’re interested in all vegan cosmetics check their website!! Also, I want to let everyone know that NONE of Looxi Beauty’s products are tested on cute fluffy bunnies!

PACKAGING: I don’t know about you guys, but to me the packing is one of the best parts of a product – especially when it comes to compacts! I think that brands can be so creative with compacts; with their size, shape, colour, design, etc.., while other products they can’t due to their limited size. The packaging inDSC_0233  these highlighters is a metallic silver and surprisingly light weight: it looks very much like the Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm; the only difference is that the Looxi Beauty’s compact is bigger. On top of the compact it has Looxi Beauty’s logo and on the back it has the name of the product and the list of the ingredients (listed above). I think that the packaging is sleek and well thought of; it certainly reminded me of a high-end product, and that’s the impact that any starting company wants to make with their customers.

PIGMENTATION: Pigmentation is probably the biggest selling factor for a lot of people when it comes to a new make-up product; I know it is to me. I’m not one to discriminate against a product, however I do set standards when trying new things; just because something is cheap does not mean they don’t have to perform to a certain DSC_0236degree of satisfaction, and because something is more expensive it does not mean it’s a guaranteed hit! When I saw Jessica’s swatches on Instagram I immediately wanted to try her highlighters – they seemed to have that perfect creamy consistency that I love in pressed powders, and go figure, they actually do! Swatching them felt like a dream; they just glide on your fingers and are extremely pigmented, even with only one swipe!

PRICE/AMOUNT: Okay, now let’s talk about the price for amount ratio! Each highlighter comes with 9.0 grams of product and they cost $15 dollars each; now, mathematically speaking, you’re paying 0.60 DSC_0235CENTS per gram of product! The Mary Lou Manizer comes with 8.5 grams and it costs $24 US dollars, which is a lot, more money for less 0.5 grams of product. Their eyeshadows come with 1.3 grams of product, which coincidentally it’s the same amount of product as a M.A.C eyeshadow; only $11 US dollars cheaper… I think the price point is perfect for what we are getting; it feels and applies like a luxury item but it costs a mid—to— low end price.

After taking all of these great aspects into consideration, I had to give Looxi Beauty a rating of 5/5 and they are 100% Mademoiselle approved; I can’t wait to get my hands on Valley Girl, Luxe, 24k, Latte and Nebula!

Please check out Looxi Beauty as it’s a starting company that needs tons of love from beauty junkies from all over the world!
