Stella & Dot review!

Hello my loves!

Today’s blog post is a review on a company that I was introduced to recently; Stella & Dot.

Last weekend my cousin invited me over for a girls night at her house; obviously the night involved lots of wine, yummy food and of course, Jewellery! I’m the type of person who doesn’t like spend lots of money on jewellery, my most expensive pieces were given to me as present by my family and friends and I’m always afraid of using them so I don’t break, or lose them! However, during the beginning of this year I made myself a promise to buy quality pieces not quantity, and that includes the bling, too!

Stella & Dot is a company that started in San Francisco with the sole purpose of empowering women. S&D is a direct sales company where women/men can sign up to sell the jewellery; it’s the same concept as Avon, Scentsy and Younique! The night started off with the Stylist (Luisa) coming up to me and greet me; most ofDSC_0052 you must be thinking “That’s normal” but you’d be surprised at how many people forget their good manners at home! Not only was Luisa super sweet, she also showed a great business attitude, which for someone who studies business it’s always a plus!

The whole idea behind the company was moving, after all 2015 is the year of social awakening, and the empowerment of women “bandwagon” is something that EVERYONE should jump into; but as a consumer I had to know if the product I was getting would be worth it – was this product (costume jewellery) going to be like the Forever 21 stuff with a higher price tag? Or would it be something that would WOW me?

After trying a couple pieces on, I feel in love with a ring! If you have been following my fashion blog for a while, you know I’m a ring girl. I’ve no idea why, but I love the feeling of having my hands covered in sparkly bands and big shinny rocks! Yeah, I’m that kind of girl! So when I saw this gold and amber ring I almost r161cnsm__arabesque-cocktail-ring_alt_2fell on my bum.

The Arabesque Cocktail ring is one of the most stunning things I’ve seen. I’m usually a silver person, but this baby caught my attention right away. The Amber stone is sitting on a gold claw that almost wraps around the whole finger, leaving a small opening between the two sides of the band. It is extremely light weight and the design of it is so beautiful, and I’m not going to lie…. I feel like an elfin princess from Lord of The Rings with it on my fingers!

DSC_0058As “costume” jewellery goes, Stella & Dot is waaaaay up there. According to my stylist they hardly tarnish and they last for years; which is great for the price/value of the pieces you’re getting. I hate to admit it, but sometimes it’s worth it to spend a little more money in certain pieces in your wardrobe; instead of buying a new set of F21 or H&M rings every couple months, I can buy one piece that is more expensive, but that will last me longer, which at the long run, it will save me tons of money and I most certainly can’t complain about that!

So, what are your opinions on this company? Has anyone tried any of their products? I absolutely love it and can see myself buying more in the future, especially their amazing necklaces!

If you’d like to contact Luisa about getting a wonderful piece of jewellery you can always find her at
